Coffee is believed to help reduce headaches. The content of caffeine in it is believed to be able to reduce headaches if consumed in the right dose. But if consumed in excess, it can trigger headaches like migraines.

When a person has a headache, the head veins dilate. Under these conditions, the blood flow to the head decreases so that the brain will lack oxygen. This lack of oxygen can ultimately lead to headaches. Well, caffeine has the effect of shrinking blood vessels and increasing heart rate, so that blood flow to the brain becomes normal.

However, the positive effects of new caffeine are obtained if consumed in the right level, which is around 300 mg per day (equivalent to 1-3 cups of coffee per day). If consumed above that dose, coffee can actually trigger a headache.

So, it is still wise to consume coffee so that the benefits can be obtained maximally, especially in dealing with headaches.
